Discover the World of Dancesport
At American Dancesport Center, we specialize in teaching both social and competitive styles of dance. Many students start with social dancing, and as their skills grow, they often feel inspired to take on a new challenge—that’s where Dancesport comes in. It’s the exciting world of competitive Ballroom and Latin dancing, open to anyone ages 8 to 95.
Competitions are divided by age and skill level, so it’s never too late to begin! Dancesport includes two main styles: American and International, each with its own unique dances:
- American Style
- Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo
- Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz
- International Style
- Latin: Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive
- Standard: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep

Not ready to compete in all dances? No problem—you can enter “single dance” categories and choose only the styles you love. Beyond the standard dances, competitions also offer categories for Hustle, Merengue, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Country, Bachata, and more.
Whether you’re dancing for fun, fitness, or the thrill of competition—there’s a place for you on the dance floor!
